Claire Gehly looked for a tapestry and canvas handbag with
zippered pockets, and not finding any she made her own.
Relatives, friends and neighbors saw her new handbag and wanted to know where she bought it. When she said "I made it myself", they requested her to make one for them. Even perfect strangers walked up to her and demanded to know where the could buy
a handbag like that. When she replied "I made it myself"
some people asked her to make one for them. Subsequently, Claire opened a tiny shop named BAGCRAFTERS, where tourists from all over the world watched her make her bags which they purchased; and though she operated the store for only a year they still
send her orders through the mail.
Claires, bags have appeared in Appleseed's catalog and on
the cover of the Orvis Catalog.
Today, Claire operates BAGCRAFTERS out of her home in
Stratham, NH. BAGCRAFTER bags are beautiful handmade tapestry and cotton canvas handbags that are everyday accessories and art canvases.
