Christine Davis
I was born in Vermont on a farm the youngest of five children. My mother is an artist - painting china for over 20 years now and my
father was a farmer and carpenter - always building things. They enjoyed nature and creativity and I'm fortunate to have had that
in my environment. I now reside in Jefferson, NH with my husband Dean - who has been the person who always encouraged me to keep drawing and
painting no matter how busy life became. He is truly my soul mate.
I have done china painting, acrylic paintings, leather work, pen and ink
and pastel chalks in addition to sewing clothing and curtains over the years.
My favorite medium is acrylic paint which I have applied to walls, doors and now on wooden bowls.
Teaching is my second love and I had the privilege to teach several drawing and pastel chalks classes to adults and children locally a few years ago. Currently I have 26 credits in art from a nationally accredited college. The art classes were challenging as I had to look at things objectively - assessing shadow, perspective, form, positive and negative spaces. Having the technical training enabled me to become a better artist allowing me the time to focus on the color, depth and emotion to what I love to paint.
My love of nature and the beauty that it offers us is part of my inspiration. I have two adult children and a granddaughter. I cannot wait to get a paintbrush in my grandaughters hands, but coloring is fun for now. She is 15 months old and loves to sit in my lap and color, it's a beginning.
