Carol Sanchioni Laughner is an illustrator and dachshund lover who lives in rural southwestern New Hampshire with her husband, Vinoy (also an artist), and her mini black-and-tan dachshund, Lilly. Lilly has been Carol's companion and muse for nearly 17 years, and her inspiration for many illustrations and designs.

Carol was born in Connecticut , and graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York City . She has made her home in New Hampshire , where she has done further study in commercial art and art therapy. She has enjoyed teaching art to children at art centers and local libraries.

Carol has done many privately commissioned and commercial illustrations, including some for articles published by Cobblestone, a publisher of children's educational magazines. She has also done editorial illustrations and in-house design for McGraw-Hill and other publishers. She’s won awards for her illustrations with the New Hampshire Creative Club and Graphic Design USA .
